Here Come the Stretch Goals... Let's Make the DEFINITIVE EDITION HARDCOVER an Even Cooler Book!

We can't thank you enough for your amazing support on this campaign so far! This hardcover collection has been something we've wanted to do for a LOOOONG time. At last, the stars aligned, we found a launch window, and our dedicated and loyal 'Tribe came out to make sure it's going to happen.
How Do You Make a DEFINITIVE EDITION HARDCOVER Even Better? Here's How...
When we're designing a Kickstarter campaign, we like to ask ourselves two key questions:
- What's the minimum loveabled version of this product that we'd be thrilled to launch to our fans and we think they'd be super excited to support.
- If there were no cost constraints at all, what would the greatest conceivable version of the product be, the one with all the bells and whistles?
With those two questions in mind, we usually build our initial funding goal around making the former, and then use our stretch goals to try to make the latter happen if we can.
For example, for the CHUM hardcover, our non-negotiables were it had to be oversized and it had to feature the awesome Die-Cut sharkmouth, which we've seen in our dreams (or maybe nightmares?)
Now that we've secured funding for that, we're turning our head toward what some of the bells and whistles we could add to this book to make it even more amazing. Some ideas include:
- HC Upgrade #1: Spot UV Treatment on the Shark to Really Make it pop!
- HC Upgrade #2: Black Board Upgrade (A better cover stock, enhanced from greyboard)
- HC Upgrade #3: Red-Tipped Edges on the pages for a truly unique book.
All of these upgrades do come with additional cost, so we're tieing them to stretch goal milestones. We're also adding some additional upgrades to the SIGNED ART PLATE BUNDLE tied to funding milestones.
As you can see from our stretch goal tracker, our first stretch goal unlocks at $10K and our first Hardcover Upgrade Kicks in at $12K.

Q1: Hey, what's the deal with the Early Backer Signed Art Plate Bundle?
Our fast action taker bonus for this campaign was that all backers who join the campaign before Thursday April 9, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT and get a pledge that includes the CHUM hardcover will receive an upgrade that includes an art plate by Sami Kivela, signed by writer Ryan K Lindsay, and any other items included in the Art Plate Bundle that may be unlocked as stretch goals (book mark, mini-prints, stickers, etc.)
Note: These Art Plates will be manually added to Fast Action Backers' pledges after the campaign is over. You do not need to do anything extra to get your Fast Action Bonus.
Q2: If I miss the Early Backer Bonus, can I still get the Signed Art Plate Upgrade?
Absolutely. After the Fast Action bonus period ends, the Art Plate Bundle Upgrade will be available as an add-on.
